At K.A.S.I.A. Preschool, we offer a day full of activities. All of our activities help the social and academic development of children. Kids learn best when they are having fun! We tailor our lessons to each child’s unique learning style. Whether your child is a visual, auditory, or kinesthetic learner, our activities will engage and inspire!
Our classroom has many different developmental areas for the children to independently explore or engage as a group.
There are many puzzles and hand eye coordination activities. A plethora of activities that will enhance their fine motor skills.
Montessori inspired activities include: Nuts & Bolts, Screwdriver, Squeezing a Sponge, Wringing a Clothe, Pouring Exercises, Spooning Exercises, Sorting, Closing and Opening, and Transferring Exercises. The children will also learn “care of a person”: Folding Clothes, Dressing Frames (Zippers, Snaps, and Buttons).
The children will explore the 5 senses.
Sight (Visual Sense), Hearing (Auditory Sense), Smell (Olfactory Sense) Taste (Gustatory Sense) and Touch (the skin senses).
They may engage in smelling bottle activities where they match the unknown scent to a picture card. They can feel different textures and fabric boards, different sand paper grades and sound bottles: match like sounds in unidentified sound jars.
The children will discover with magnifying glasses real life plants, rocks, and seashells as well as the continuous responsibility of caring for our fish in our aquarium, also they will participate in the occasional preschool science experiments.
The classroom will reflect different cultures. A wide variety of books, lessons and music are provided.
Here, the children are to role play and set their imagination free. With different dress up clothing and props that are changed to reflect the children’s cues and themes.
Paint brushes, stamps, sponges, crayons and feathers…whatever their little hearts desire to use! In this area, the children can create their own expressive art independently of creating their own masterpiece whether teacher directed or free art expression.
